Meet Maria Temporal, Alameda Family Services' Social Worker!

Hi, everyone! My name is Maria, and I am the Alameda Family Services’ Library Clinical Social Worker at Alameda Free Library. You may have seen me around already, but I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share how we will be working together. I am located inside the Main Branch, 1550 Oak Street on the second floor, Social Services Office. One of my main responsibilities is supporting patrons with accessing resources. I am grateful to be able to do this through the Alameda Welfare Grant that was awarded to Friends of the Alameda Free Library to connect persons in need with free items at the Books & Bites Cafe. When I approach the Cafe with a patron, I will introduce myself and state that the items the patron is choosing will be charged to the grant. If patrons ask for free items when they are not accompanied by me, please feel free to refer them to me and I’ll be happy to support them as needed. Thank you very much.
